Staff are the lifeblood in any health center, with the ability to impact patient experience during every phase of their visit. Staff members are also the clinical touchstone for community members, serving as their first confirmation that they will be respected and cared for at the health center. As such, the training staff members receive is integral to the delivery of high-quality, person-centered contraceptive care. In order to optimize person-centered contraceptive care, staff training should not only include foundational information on contraceptive knowledge and technical skills, but also staff training must address health equity and staff attitudes and beliefs around reproductive healthcare.
