Executive leadership plays a central role in supporting QI work, including strategies and interventions for this project. These leaders likely already have built robust quality improvement infrastructures at the CHC, including internal capacity to engage in ongoing, continuous QI work aimed at improving patient experience and achieving greater health equity. They also are positioned to dedicate the staff time and other resources necessary to achieve a QI project’s aim(s). When implementing changes to ensure that all patients have a positive experience when choosing a contraceptive method and have unrestricted access to their chosen contraceptive method, improvement teams do not need to create new structures and processes; instead, they are encouraged to leverage this existing capacity and support.
